These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our services, including house removals, packing services, and end of tenancy cleaning in Greater Manchester, including Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Oldham, and Tameside. By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2.1. Quotations for our services are valid for 30 days and subject to availability. Acceptance of a quotation via email, phone, or our website (Get a Quote) forms a binding agreement.
2.2. You must provide accurate information about the volume, nature, and specific requirements of items to be moved or packed, including access conditions (e.g., stairs, parking restrictions). We reserve the right to adjust pricing or refuse service if the provided information is inaccurate.
2.3. Services are subject to availability and may require a deposit to secure a booking, as specified in the quotation.
3.1. Payment is due in full upon completion of the services unless otherwise agreed in writing. For long-distance removals or large bookings, a deposit of up to 50% may be required in advance.
3.2. We accept payments via bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash. All payments must be made in GBP.
3.3. Late payments may incur a fee of £25 per day or statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, whichever is applicable.
3.4. Additional charges may apply for unforeseen circumstances, such as restricted access, additional items, or waiting time beyond 30 minutes, as outlined in the quotation.
4.1. Cancellations or postponements must be notified in writing to info@smartymoves.com at least 48 hours before the scheduled service date.
4.2. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a fee of 50% of the quoted price. Cancellations within 24 hours or failure to provide access on the scheduled date may incur the full quoted price.
4.3. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule services due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., vehicle breakdown, staff illness). We will notify you promptly and offer a full refund or rescheduling option if we cannot fulfill the booking.
5.1. You must ensure safe and legal access to the property, including parking permits and clear pathways. Any costs incurred due to lack of access (e.g., parking fines) will be your responsibility.
5.2. You are responsible for declaring the value and nature of items to be moved or packed, especially fragile, high-value, or hazardous items. Failure to declare such items may void insurance coverage.
5.3. You must ensure all items are appropriately prepared for transport (e.g., appliances disconnected, furniture disassembled unless agreed otherwise).
5.4. For end of tenancy cleaning, you must ensure the property is accessible and free of personal belongings unless cleaning is part of a combined service.
6.1. We will perform services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6.2. Our house removals company Manchester provides goods in transit insurance up to £50,000, subject to terms. Additional insurance for high-value items can be arranged upon request.
6.3. We use eco-friendly packing materials and fuel-efficient routes where possible to minimize environmental impact.
7.1. Our liability for loss or damage to goods is limited to £50,000 per claim under our goods in transit insurance, unless additional coverage is agreed in writing.
7.2. We are not liable for loss or damage due to:

7.4. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of income or accommodation costs.
8.1. We do not transport or pack hazardous materials, including but not limited to flammable substances, explosives, corrosives, or illegal items. You must disclose the nature of all items prior to service.
8.2. We reserve the right to refuse service if prohibited items are identified, and you may be liable for any resulting costs or damages.
9.1. We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
9.2. Your personal information (e.g., name, address, contact details) will be used solely for providing services, processing payments, and communicating with you.
10.1. Any complaints should be submitted in writing to info@smartymoves.com within 14 days of service completion. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
10.2. If a dispute cannot be resolved, you may refer it to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, as required by the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes Regulations 2015.
11.1. We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will be available on our website at www.smartymoves.com/terms.html.
11.2. Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
